10TV’s Dom Tiberi Urges Lawmakers To Pass Distracted Driving Legislation

10TV sports anchor Dom Tiberi is continuing his campaign to stop distracted driving.
Wednesday morning, he testified during a state senate meeting at the Ohio Statehouse.
Lawmakers from all over Ohio were gathered to focus on distracted driving.
Tiberi appeared at a senate hearing and spoke about his daughter's fatal crash. It's the event that now pushes him to make a difference through Maria's Message.
Former Ohio State University Coach John Cooper joined Tiberi in presenting reasons why new legislation addressing distracted driving is so crucial.
House Bill 53 would include tougher standards for Ohio's driving schools, improved driver training, and make distracted driving a ticketable offense.
It also may bring new driving simulators to the state.
“There are so many things that take our hands and eyes and mind off the wheel. We don't know what Maria was doing at the time of her accident, but whatever it was, she paid with her life,” Tiberi stated.
